Arrested Development Season 5 Episode 3 Review: Everyone Gets Atrophy

WWE Pulls a Bait and Switch on SmackDown

Image
Mike McMahon May 30, 2018 Instead of the promised Samoa Joe vs. Daniel Bryan main event, Big Cass got involved ... There was good and bad to the main event of SmackDown on Tuesday night. The good was Daniel Bryan lost, clean. That's right, that's a good thing (we'll explain in a second). The bad is that Bryan's comeback tour is getting sidetracked by a nonsense feud against Big Cass. Let's start with the good. Samoa Joe made Bryan pass out in the Coquina Clutch, securing Joe's spot in the Money in the Bank match and relegating Bryan to something different on that pay-per-view card. Oh, Big Cass was in the match for some reason as well. That's good for a few reasons. First, it made Joe's Coquina Clutch look incredibly strong as a finishing move. It re-established that choke in a big way. It puts Samoa Joe in the title picture while holding back Bryan, and rightfully so, given that his comeback is only about a month old. He doesn't need to

Westworld Season 2: What Is The Cradle?

Image
Alec Bojalad May 30, 2018 Westworld Season 2 has now revealed where the hosts' consciousness hangs out. Here is what we know about "The Cradle." Westworld  Season 2 hasn’t been shy about introducing new sci-fi concepts for the viewer to wrap his or her head around. The Cradle is just one more Westworld theme park tool that the remaining human characters must use. The Cradle’s technical name is Room CR4-DL and it’s located in the Mesa Hub.  So what is the Cradle and what does it do? The answer as it turns out is fairly simple. Despite its properly sci-fi name, the Cradle is essentially a computer server where all the host’s consciousnesses* reside.  *Fun fact: “consciousnesses” is the plural form of “consciousness.” Doesn’t that seem like a word where the singular should also serve as the plural?  This makes plenty of practical sense within the reality of the show. There is a  ton  of data floating around Westworld. And all that data doesn’t reside purely withi

Westworld Season 2 Theory: Robert Ford is the Weapon

Image
David Crow May 30, 2018 What if, even as a dead man, Robert Ford's proverbial ghost is the weapon everyone seeks in Westworld Season 2? This article contains Westworld Season 2 spoilers. Ever since Westworld introduced the concept of data-mining this season, we’ve all been anticipating just exactly what (human) shape that could eventually take. If you can record “who a person really is” while inside the confines of the park, why not just replicate them? From the very first episode of the year, the prioritization of intellectual property above all else for the Delos corporation has been insidious. They’d even reserve the right to send in reinforcements until priceless IP inside of Peter Abernathy was recovered. William and Dolores, meanwhile, were both revealed in the second week to be chasing a nondescript MacGuffin—something Dolores calls “a weapon.” After those early episodes, we have waited to learn what the weapon was and how it might be best utilized, but like Jam

Sylvester Stallone Eyes Jack Johnson Biopic

Image
Joseph Baxter May 30, 2018 The recently-pardoned late boxing legend, Jack Johnson, will be the focus of a Sylvester Stallone-developed biopic. Sylvester Stallone is about to develop a major boxing movie that has nothing to do with Rocky or Creed . Indeed, the focus of this prize-fighter picture will be historic in nature, telling the story of Jack Johnson, the first African-American heavyweight boxing champion, whose name has recently generated headlines. A biopic about Jack Johnson will be the first project on queue for Stallone’s newly-launched Balboa Productions company in a partnership with MGM, reports Deadline . Indeed, Stallone is not wasting any time after the posthumous presidential pardon issued on May 24 to the historically persecuted boxing great, Jack Johnson; a move by President Donald Trump that was met with rare bipartisan support. Appropriately, Stallone had provided one of the loudest voices calling for the long-advocated move.   Jack Johnson’s plight is a

The Rain Season 2 Confirmed By Netflix

Image
Joseph Baxter May 30, 2018 Danish post-apocalyptic series The Rain has received a quick renewal for Season 2. The Rain Season 2 is officially happening! Netflix didn’t wait long to issue a renewal for the dark Danish television series, The Rain , which only just premiered on the streaming giant on May 4. The series puts a group of young survivors into what could be described as a Nimbus Apocalypse, in which a virus contained in rainfall has wiped out most of humanity. However, the constant threat of virulent weather hasn’t put a damper on the relationships amongst the young survivors in their perilous series-depicted migration and the subsequent interpersonal issues and rocky romances. The Rain was created by the trio of Jannik Tai Mosholt, Christian Potalivo and Esben Toft Jacobsen. While, Netflix (as usual,) is keeping a tight lid on any numerical achievements for the series, it does justify the renewal by claiming that the show “resonated with audiences globally, inc

World War 3 Trailer Showcases Realistic Large Scale Battles

Image
Matthew Byrd May 30, 2018 World War 3 offers an intriguing combination of persistent online skirmishes and battle royale conflicts. Developer Farm 51 have revealed a new military online shooter called World War 3 . Video of World War 3 Announcement Trailer Early information about World War 3 suggests that it will emphasize realistic military action across two major modes. The first mode, referred to as Warzone, seems comparable to the Battlefield series. That is to say that it allows players to participate in "large-scale combined arms battles with infantry, armored vehicles, and drones." There are rumblings of the mode featuring some kind of attack and defend objectives, but it's not clear if that is the extent of Warzone's objectives It also seems that there will be some kind of overarching progression system in Warzone that will account for which countries are currently in control. Yes, there is some kind of on-going conflict system in the game th

Intellivision Announces New Console

Image
Matthew Byrd May 30, 2018 Legendary console manufacturer Intellivision is getting back into the hardware game with a family-friendly device. Against all odds - and perhaps logic - Intellevision is developing a new console. Yes, so far as we can tell, this recently announced Intellivision device is going to be a brand-new console and not a mini-console/classic edition version of an old Intellivision system. The company's official press release indicates that this will be a pretty basic console built around the goals of "simple, affordable, family, and fun." It's not entirely clear what the console will offer in terms of software and features but the description states that "The new Intellivision system (name TBA) will carry on the company tradition of 'firsts' with its new concept, design, and approach to gaming." Long-time video game music composer Tommy Tallarico, who has recently been named President of Intellivision Entertainment, info

Image
Matthew Byrd May 30, 2018 Sonic takes the wheel in this promising upcoming racing title. Sega has confirmed the development of Team Sonic Racing after users on ResetEra spotted a WalMart leak of the game just hours ago.  Video of Team Sonic Racing - Reveal Trailer As was rumored earlier this year , Team Sonic Racing will be developed by Sumo Digital who also worked on  Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing and Sonic All-Stars Racing Transformed . What we didn't know based on the rumors that emerged earlier this year is that Team Sonic Racing will allow for both online multiplayer (in which up to 12 players can compete) and offline multiplayer which will support up to four players via split-screen. Regardless of which multiplayer option you choose, you'll be able to participate in a variety of modes that include Grand Prix, Exhibition, Time-Trial, and Team Adventure.  Yes, Team Adventure. It seems that Team Sonic Racing will lean heavily on the team aspect of

Pokemon: Core Nintendo Switch RPG Title Releasing in 2019

Image
Matthew Byrd May 30, 2018 There's a proper Pokemon game coming to Switch next year. At the Pokemon press conference in Tokyo, Game Freak revealed that they are still working on a "core" and more traditional Pokemon game for Nintendo Switch.  Details are few and far between at this time, but early reports from the press conference indicate that the core Pokemon Switch game that Game Freak is working on is designed in the style of Pokemon X/Y and Pokemon Sun/Moon . That is to say that it sounds like it's going to be the kind of traditional JRPG Pokemon experience that we've been getting on Nintendo handhelds for years, but this one will playable on Nintendo Switch.  In other words, it sounds like it's going to be exactly the Pokemon game we were expecting when it was revealed that core Pokemon experiences are coming to the Nintendo Switch.  At this time, the current plan is for this unnamed core Pokemon game to be released for Nintendo Switc

How Brooklyn Nine-Nine Was Saved From Cancellation (EXCLUSIVE)

Image
Daniel Kurland May 30, 2018 Brooklyn Nine-Nine co-executive producer Andy Bobrow details the show’s recent rescue from death and its intense fandom. In the current television landscape, the cancellation of television shows isn’t always certain death. There are sometimes multiple suitors happy to grab programs the “big networks” discard. Remember when Community aired on (the now deceased) Yahoo! Screen?  In May, there was an unexpected number of beloved programs meeting their premature end, and some networks (like Fox and ABC) practically cleaned their entire lineups off their programming slate. One of the biggest upsets was the news that Fox cancelled Brooklyn Nine-Nine after five seasons. Many simply couldn’t accept this. Not long after the news broke and a massive response from the fans ensued, NBC had announced that they had saved the program. Brooklyn Nine-Nine co-executive producer Andy Bobrow Bobrow recalls that the initial news of the cancellation wasn’t all that s

Pokemon Quest Now Available on Nintendo Switch

Image
John Saavedra May 30, 2018 A new, free-to-start Pokemon game called Pokemon Quest is coming to the Nintendo Switch as well as mobile devices. It's a big day for the Pokemon franchise. During a press conference, Nintendo announced that both Let's Go Pikachi and Let's Go Eevee , the Switch's versions of the Pokemon Go mobile phenomenon, are coming later this year. There's also a new, core Pokemon RPG coming to the Switch in 2019 .  But if you're hankering for a new Pokemon experience right now, Nintendo has also just released Pokemon Quest , a new RPG from Game Freak, the series' main developer. The game is now available to download on the Switch and is coming to iOS and Android devices in June.  Here's the announcement trailer: Video of UK: New Adventures Await in Pokémon Quest! The game takes place on Tumblecube Island and features "Pokexels," blocky versions of your favorite pocket monsters. For now, only first generation

James Marsden is Set to Star in The Upcoming SONIC THE HEDGEHOG Movie

Image
James Marsden ( Westworld, X-Men ) is set to star in Paramount Picture's live-action/animation hybrid movie Sonic The Hedgehog . Yep, this movie based on the classic video game franchise is still happening.  The studio hired Jeff Fowler to direct the film and this is his first feature film directing gig. The only other thing he directed was a short film called Gopher Broke . However, Deadpool director Tim Miller is attached as an executive producer along with Fast and Furious franchise producer Neal H. Moritz . There are no plot details on the film, but I imagine it will include a lot of elements from the game, which features a hedgehog named Sonic on a quest to defeat Doctor Robotnik, a scientist who has imprisoned animals in robots and stolen magical Chaos Emeralds. The movie is set to be released on November 15th, 2019. What do you think about James Marsden starring in Sonic the Hedgehog ? Director Drew Goddard Discusses The Future of His X-FORCE Film After DEADPOOL 2

Image
If you haven't seen Deadpool 2 yet, you might want to skip this article because it deals with how the X-Force team was handled in the movie. If you did see the film, you know exactly what I'm talking about. In a completely surprising twist, almost the entire X-Force team that Deadpool gathered together to fight Cable was killed off as fast as they were introduced in the most hilarious ways. It was amazingly funny. Those characters included Shatterstar, Bedlam, Zeitgeist, and The Vanisher. I was actually wondering what this meant for director Drew Goddard 's X-Force film and what he thought about the characters being killed off like that. Turns out he was completely on board with it and thought it was great! During a recent interview with EW Goddard explained: "To be honest, I think that’s why it excited me so much. I remember reading that scene and just cackling with delight, specifically because it was the very last thing you’d expect to happen in one of these

Blue and The Indoraptor Fight in TV Spot For JURASSIC WORLD: FALLEN KINGDOM and There's a New Poster!

Image
Universal Pictures has released a great new poster and TV spot for Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom . Both of them tease that the park is gone and the promo offers some cool new footage of Chris Pratt 's Raptor, Blue, fighting the new genetically engineered dinosaur, called the Indoraptor, in a bedroom of a little girl. Could you imagine seeing two dinosaurs fighting in your bedroom when you were a kid!? That would be one of the greatest things ever! Here's the synopsis: It’s been three years since theme park and luxury resort Jurassic World was destroyed by dinosaurs out of containment. Isla Nublar now sits abandoned by humans while the surviving dinosaurs fend for themselves in the jungles. When the island’s dormant volcano begins roaring to life, Owen (Chris Pratt) and Claire (Bryce Dallas Howard) mount a campaign to rescue the remaining dinosaurs from this extinction-level event. Owen is driven to find Blue, his lead raptor who’s still missing in the wild, and Claire has

OMENSIGHT Review: Armageddon With A Side Of Murder Mystery

Image
The end of the world is coming. You know it, for you are the Harbinger; a being whose sole purpose and meaning of existence is to stop this very situation. To complicate matters, a murderer is running free and is probably the party responsible for bringing about the end of the world. Oh, and then there is the war going on. Taking place in an anthropomorphic world of magic, Urallia is fraught with conflict and steeped in war. Story Part Groundhog Day , part Zelda ,  Omensight is an interesting game with a decent story. One that isn’t going to shock you, but has enough twists and turns to be mistaken as a soap opera mini-series. As the Harbinger, you exist outside of time and are tasked with reliving the final day of existence. The hope is that you can stop the dark serpent Voden from invading and devouring our existence while simultaneously finding the killer of the Godless-Priestess; the one woman who held the balance. Most puzzling of all is why her soul hasn’t returned to the Wo

The Penguin Will Reportedly Be The Main Villain in Matt Reeves' THE BATMAN

Image
An interesting new report has surfaced from entertainment news reporter Justin Kroll that The Penguin will be the main villain in director Matt Reeves ' The Batman . Fans have been waiting for some kind of information regarding this movie and I hope that this current rumor turns out to be true. Here's what Kroll says: Take this with a grain of salt as things are constantly changing in the DCEU but I'm hearing the Penguin is possibly the choice to play the main villain in THE BATMAN. Sources add even if Reeves decide to go another route the studio could then make him the main villain in BOP — Justin Kroll (@krolljvar) May 30, 2018 Reeves is still working on the script, so that could always change but of the multiple BIRDS OF PREY scripts submitted, one does have the Penguin as the main heavy. Either way, it seems WB wants this character cast in the universe sooner rather then later. — Justin Kroll (@krolljvar) May 30, 2018 This is just a rumor for now, but it would c

Sylvester Stallone is Set to Make a Film about Boxer Jack Johnson Who Was recently Pardoned By President Trump

Image
Sylvester Stallone is producing a new film project with MGM that will tell the story of boxer Jack Johnson , who was recently posthumously pardoned by President Trump. This will be the first film project to be developed under Stallone's new production company, Balboa Productions.  Johnson was the first African-American heavyweight champion (1908–1915) and apparently, Stallone was instrumental in obtaining a presidential pardon for Johnson, who was convicted of violating the Mann Act in 1910 for transporting a woman across state lines for "immoral purposes." Here's a brief rundown of Johnson's life thanks to Wiki: John Arthur Johnson (March 31, 1878 – June 10, 1946), nicknamed the Galveston Giant, was an American boxer who, at the height of the Jim Crow era, became the first African American world heavyweight boxing champion (1908–1915). Among the period's most dominant champions, Johnson remains a boxing legend, with his 1910 fight against James J. Jeffri

Watch The Parr Family Battle The Underminer in New Clip From INCREDIBLES 2!

Image
A new clip has been released for Pixar's Incredibles 2 and it highlights the opening fight scene in the movie. The story for the film picks up right where the first Incredibles film ends, with The Underminer plowing his way up into the city from underground. At this point, the Parr family and Frozone race into action! This clip gives us a look at how some of that battle with The Underminer plays out.  I saw this full opening sequence at CinemaCon last month, and it was a blast! It's a great set up for the film. There's no doubt that fans are going to enjoy this movie.  In Incredibles 2, Helen (voice of Holly Hunter ) is called on to lead a campaign to bring Supers back, while Bob (voice of Craig T. Nelson ) navigates the day-to-day heroics of “normal” life at home with Violet (voice of Sarah Vowell), Dash (voice of Huck Milner ) and baby Jack-Jack—whose super powers are about to be discovered. Their mission is derailed, however, when a new villain emerges with a brillia

Thrilling Trailer For a Gritty Shoot 'Em Up "Neo-Western" Film LET THE CORPSES TAN

Image
I've got an awesome trailer for you to watch for a very cool looking new film coming out called Let The Corpses Tan . This is a gritty shoot 'em up French "neo-western" thriller that is an homage to 1970s Italian crime films. This is the synopsis that was released:  After stealing a truckload of gold bars, a gang of thieves absconds to the ruins of a remote village perched on the cliffs of the Mediterranean. Home to a reclusive yet hypersexual artist and her motley crew of family and admirers, it seems like a perfect hideout. But when two cops roll up on motorcycles to investigate, the hamlet erupts into a hallucinatory battlefield as both sides engage in an all-day, all-night firefight rife with double-crosses and dripping with blood. The movie is based on a classic pulp novel by Jean-Patrick Manchette and also features music by Ennio Morricone . The film is described as a "deliriously stylish, cinematic fever dream that will slamfire your senses like bucksh
