Rian Johnson Defends THE LAST JEDI Yet Again with Help From The Original Trilogy
I don’t know if it’s just because The Last Jedi is on Netflix now or what, but people are back to attacking the movie. I thought that this had ended and we had all agreed that some liked the movie and others didn’t, but apparently I was wrong. One user on Twitter posted part of what appears to be a newspaper or magazine article where George Lucas says he doesn’t want to kill or have anything bad happen to anyone in the Star Wars franchise, but especially Luke, and tagged Last Jedi director Rian Johnson. Johnson has used Star Wars canon to defend some of his choices for the film in the past and he does it again here.

Now can we all just agree to disagree? I loved The Last Jedi. I know some people who didn’t. It’s not the end of the world, and it’s certainly not the end of Star Wars. For anyone who still thinks Lucas should’ve been involved, remember that in his plans we were going to explore midichlorians in the new trilogy. You know, one of the most hated things about the prequels besides Jar Jar Binks. Also, he liked The Last Jedi and said it was "beautifully made."
But, everyone has their own opinions, which is great! That's part of what makes fandom so fun. Let's get back to having fun.
