Just rewatched Creed. Stallone was incredible.

So I know this has probably been said a million times but Sylvester Stallone’s performance in Creed was just the greatest. The scene in the locker room before the final fight, the scene in the hospital where he told Michael B. Jordan’s Adonis to get up and train during Rocky’s chemo session were both just so demanding and powerful you could actually feel the real, raw feeling of the acting. I could talk about how Stallone was robbed for the Oscar, but at the end of the day I am just so impressed with his perfect portrayal of a character he perfectly played after almost 40 years since its’ inception by Stallone himself. Completely blown away everytime I watch it this film. submitted by /u/Dylanvillain218 [link] [comments] from Movie News and Discussion https://ift.tt/2wv1atJ

I watched "Everybody Wants Some!!" again last night. This movie truy brings me so much happiness. [SPOILERS]

Everything about this movie is fantastic in my opinion. I am simply happy every single time I watch it (& I'm on about watch 6 now). It's a classic Linklater film and will hands down go down as one of my favorite movies ever. No exaggeration. The chemistry between the teammates, the comedy, FINN, the fact that the (majority of) actors actually knew how to play baseball, FINN, the parties, the "5 knuckle shuffle", Nesbit, the baseball & the axe, Jake and Beverly, nightly going-out preparations, FINN and so much more. It's a feel-good fest through and through. Little to no conflict amongst characters (Bueter, I guess, could be considered a conflict in the very beginning of the movie) which is out of the ordinary but Linklater makes it work so so well. He takes an ordinary, sometimes even mundane situation, and turns it into something so damn enjoyable. The other aspect I love about it is how, as light hearted and happy as it is, Linklater subtly drops s

Movie I can’t remember.

My mother passed away this past Saturday night and I need help in remembering the title of a movie. I have no idea who starred in it but I remember it had something to do with something or someone passing away and their spirit living on through other animals or beings. I think the main actress called them her familiars. Sorry for a vague explanation. I just really want to figure it out so I could watch it because I’m just looking for stuff to remember her by. I feel like one of her familiars was a cat if that’s helpful. And the movie had to have came out late mid to later 90s or early 2000s. submitted by /u/shotfullofguns [link] [comments] from Movie News and Discussion https://ift.tt/2MUEEVp

What is the worst Bond movie and why?

My vote is Quantum of Solace because it is derivative (the last scene is lifted straight from The Bourne Supremacy), bereft of a meaningful story and let down by a series of fundamental plotholes ((1) the opening scene includes a sleeper spy who has been undercover for 10 years+ and blows his cover to shoot, not M or Bond but..some random bodyguard (2) bond is supposed to be hard-edged and ruthless in the film - that's the entire point of it after the whole vesper thing from casino royale - but he fails to kill a guy (or even tie up/ subdue) at an airfield knowing full well that guy will call in the air force which inevitably, as bond fears, turn up and blow them out of the sky. The film is littered with such glaring issues which don't allow any suspension of disbelief. The writing is lazy, the action sequences mundane and the characters hackneyed. One bad guy is a discount south American General complete with bushy moustache and cigar. Garbage. submitted by /u/dickyban

Charmed Reboot Poster Draws on the Power of Three

Image
The CW has shared a poster for the upcoming reboot of Charmed , which will follow a new trio of magical sisters:  Macy (Madeleine Mantock) , Mel (Melonie Diaz) and Maggie (Sarah Jeffery) . The reboot was developed by Jennie Snyder Urman ( Jane the Virgin ), Jessica O'Toole and Amy Rardin ( Selfie ). The show was ordered to series at the beginning of the summer, following a pilot order in January, and is set to make its debut on The CW on Sunday nights, starting in October. The first episode of Charmed was screened at this year's San Diego Comic-Con , where the main cast members also made their debut during a panel that promised to "honor [the original] while bringing a modern twist." The show's cast also includes Rupert Evans ( The Man in the High Castle ) as the sisters' whitelighter, Harry, who will offer them guidance as they try to come to grips with magic. Tarantino's Once Upon a Time in Hollywood Casts Its Charles Manson

Image
As the cast continues to fill out, Quentin Tarantino has found his Charles Manson for the upcoming film  Once Upon a Time in Hollywood . The film was once believed to revolve around the infamous Manson Family murders, but Tarantino has since clarified, saying that his next film is simply about Hollywood in 1969 and that Manson is only one element of the movie. This month has seen a lot of casting announcements for Tarantino's upcoming film. Earlier today it was announced that  Rafal Zawierucha had been cast as a young Roman Polanski . Mike Moh was also recently revealed to be playing Bruce Lee , after being cast in an undisclosed role earlier this year. Both characters are likely to have significant screen time in the film, given Lee's growing popularity in the late 60s, and the fact that Polanski was married to actress Sharon Tate prior to her being stabbed to death.  Leonardo DiCaprio has also been cast as a fictional former TV star named Rick Dalton, who lives next to Ta

Star Wars 9: Greg Grunberg Returning as Snap Wexley

Image
With production under way on Star Wars 9 , it's been revealed that director J.J. Abrams ' longtime friend Greg Grunberg will return as his Star Wars: The Force Awakens character, Temmin "Snap" Wexley. The news isn't terribly surprising, since Grunberg has appeared in almost all of Abrams' projects. When it was announced that Abrams was returning to direct Star Wars 9, following the departure of Colin Trevorrow, most assumed Grunberg's return was imminent. Grunberg has been friends with Abrams since kindergarten, and much like how Ron Howard casts his brother Clint Howard in all of his movies, Grunberg's casting has become almost automatically assumed for every Abrams project. Grunberg first brought Snap Wexley to life on the big screen in Star Wars: The Force Awakens , but the character first debuted in Chuck Wendig's novel Aftermath , which is set between the events of Return of the Jedi and The Force Awakens.  In the first book, Snap is the

25 Crazy Things Only True Fans Know About The Making Of Glee

Image
Glee  came to an end a little over three years ago. While other shows have attempted to become the new kings of the musical show (looking at you Rise ), none succeeded. It’s possible that the Glee p henomenon is just a once-in-a-generation sort of thing that we’ve all collectively experienced. At least for the first couple of seasons anyway. Maybe there’s another high school musical show in the works somewhere, but it’ll probably never recapture the magic in the bottle that was Glee. Behind the scenes, the actors were growing into adults and experiencing tragedies, new relationships, and huge mistakes for themselves. While such things may color the show for old and new fans alike, what was accomplished in the making of Glee still remains extremely impressive. For a brief couple seasons, the lovable losers were kings and singing in elaborate musical numbers was the coolest thing. We all wanted the slushie facial and to attend William McKinley High School. Even after those glory days,
